HYTHE MARINA - Free boat trips for disabled people.


All trips must be pre-booked. Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate your preferred date, early booking is strongly advised. Individuals as well as parties are welcomed and catered for.

Vessel capacity is 12 passengers per trip maximum, including escorts/helpers. Manual and electric wheelchairs welcome (Maximum 6 per trip).

The times of the trips normally are, unless otherwise agreed:

  • Mornings 10.30 am - 12.30 pm 1st May - 30th Sept (excluding Bank Holidays)

  • Afternoons 2.00 pm - 4.00 pm 1st May - 30th Sept (excluding bank Holidays)

  • Evenings 6.00 pm - 8.00 pm Monday to Friday only, 1st June to 31st August.

All trips leave from the pontoon near the Lock-gate Office of Hythe Marina, where there is easy access for wheel-chairs and people with walking difficulties.    (NOTE: After archway into Marina, keep to the right travelling parallel with Hythe Pier, then follow road round to the left). 

Hythe Marina is located at Hythe on the western side of Southampton Water in the New Forest. To reach Hythe from the north, take the A326 road south from Junction 2 on the M27 Motorway, following the signs to Hythe, then to Hythe Marina. Continue to the very end of the road (over the speed humps slowly) to the Lockgate Office.
